Project 365 | Sweet Wally Photography | Nashville Newborn Photographer

When beginning my photography business, it was really important that I continue to photograph my family. After all, that is why I picked up a camera in the first place. But with more families to capture in such a fun stage of their life, I fell into the trap I so much wanted to avoid. Taking the pictures wasn't the problem; uploading and editing them at the end of the day, along with the once-in-a-lifetime ones I'm entrusted with, seemed too overwhelming.

But Instagram gave me the push I needed, and seeing my friend Natalie's gorgeous feed she is curating with her personal Project 365 inspired me to take the leap. So I've begun my own Project 365 (or more correctly Project 366 - thank you leap year!), and I am posting on my personal Instagram feed to keep me accountable. I will post my four favorites at the end of every month on this blog.

If you'd like to follow along, you can check it out here. My sweet babies & bumps photos are here. Please connect so I can see your beautiful work too!

Without further ado, here are my four favorites from February!

My Top 15 Photos of 2015 | Nashville Newborn Photographer | Sweet Wally Photography

As 2015 comes to a close, I can't help but think what a big year in photography it has been for me: I joined Shoot Along, a year long project that grew my photography tremendously; I experienced Click Away & got to hang out with hundreds of other camera-obsessed folks; I made some fabulous photography friends - shout out to my mentor & pre-photography buddy Natalie (expect something in your mailbox soon) & my girl Erica, my partner in photography crime who has promised to travel to Scotland with me in 2016 (I am holding you to it). I also got the gumption to launch my business, an idea that sprouted some time ago but seemed unobtainable at times (like when I had a colicky baby & toddler who did not appreciate sleep).

Using all I've learned over the past year to photograph families at such a precious time in their life has been awesome. Photographing my own family has been equally so. I can't tell you how big the warm & fuzzies are when I look back at these images I've taken over the past year! And to celebrate the end of this big year, I'm sharing with you my top 15 personal photos of 2015...

I hope your 2015 has been fabulous too. And cheers to another one up ahead!
